Our latest release, »Mitt hjerte altid vanker • I« by the trio Ingebrigt Håker Flaten / Håkon Kornstad / Jon Christensen, is getting a lot of attention in Sweden. It was released here mars 22. Magnus Eriksson writes in Svenska Dagbladet that it’s »improvisations that’s looking beyond the given structure, but where the melody provides a center as the musicians slowly rings on again – always with respect for the integrity of the hymn. Kornstads’ grainy tone interpret Christianity in its austerity, without false beautification.« He gives the album 5 out of 6.

    Magnus Haglund gives the album 5 out of 5 i GP: »The sense of memory wealth in the melodic material is overwhelming, while allowing a distinctive musical freedom. There is a communicative simplicity and directness in the performance that is as careful as wide open.«
